Idler is an important components of belt conveyors, with a wide variety and large quantity. It accounts for 35% of the total cost of a belt conveyor and withstands more than 70% of the resistance, so the quality of the idlers is particularly important.
The function of the idler is to support the conveyor belt and the weight of the material. The operation of the idler must be flexible and reliable. Reducing the friction between the conveyor belt and the idler plays a crucial role in the lifespan of the conveyor belt, which accounts for more than 25% of the total cost of the conveyor. Although the idler is a small component in a belt conveyor and its structure is not complex, but the manufacture of high-quality idler is not easy.
There are several criteria for judging the quality of idlers: radial runout of idlers; Roller flexibility; Axial movement.
Idler classification
1. According to material, it is divided into rubber idler, ceramic idler, nylon idler, and insulated idler.
2. There are mainly groove idler groups, various parallel idler groups, various centering idler groups, and various buffer idler groups.
